Presentation of the Letters of Credence of H.E. Simon Pullicino as Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the State of Qatar

On 27 September 2023, H.E. Simon Pullicino presented his Letters of Credence as Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the State of Qatar to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar.

The credentials ceremony, together with the traditional inspection of the Guard of Honour, took place at the Amiri Diwan in Doha. During this ceremony, both sides highlighted the excellent bilateral relations between Malta and Qatar, consolidated through the State Visit of H.E. Dr. George Vella, the President of Malta to Qatar which included a meeting with His Highness in June 2022. Both sides also noted with satisfaction that recent years have seen an increase in high-level contacts and exchanges. H.E. Pullicino conveyed the best wishes of President Vella and reiterated that Malta will continue to actively support and promote deepening ties between the EU and Qatar, as well as between the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

H.E. Pullicino had presented his Copies d’Usage to H.E. the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi on 3 September 2023.

During the Presentation of the Letters of Credence, H.E. Ambassador Simon Pullicino was accompanied by his spouse, Ms. Tania Pullicino and Mr. Alfred Tabone, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul at the Embassy of Malta in Qatar.
