Presentation of Credentials by Ambassador of Malta to Türkiye

On 19 March 2025, the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Türkiye, H.E. Marisa Farrugia, formally presented her credentials to H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Turkish Presidential Palace in Ankara. Ambassador Farrugia was accompanied by First Secretary Mr. Charles Calleja and Consul General in Istanbul Mr. Walter Mallia.

Following the official ceremony, President Erdoğan and Ambassador Farrugia engaged in a brief discussion, underlining the strong diplomatic relations between Malta and Türkiye and exploring avenues for further cooperation between the two nations.

As part of her engagements, on 20 March 2025, Ambassador Farrugia paid tribute to the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, by laying a wreath at Anıtkabir on behalf of the Maltese Embassy in Ankara. This act of respect underscored Malta’s commitment to strengthening its ties with Türkiye, built upon shared values and mutual interests.
