09/01/2020

On 22 July 2020, Malta’s first resident Ambassador in the UAE, Mrs Maria Camilleri Calleja, presented her Copie d’Usage to H.E. Khaled Bel Houl, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the UAE Foreign Ministry.  Due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 situation in the country, this meeting had to take place virtually.

H.E. Bel Houl welcomed the placing of an Ambassador of the Republic of Malta in Abu Dhabi, underscoring that this will further help to amplify relations between the two countries.  The two sides also agreed to work together to set up political consultations between the two countries, have more agreements signed in various areas of mutual interest, and boost political, diplomatic, commercial and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

H.E. Bel Houl also took the opportunity to welcome Ambassador Camilleri Calleja and her family to the UAE.
