Embassy of Malta in The United Arab Emirates

Following the establishment of diplomatic relations on 20 November 1973, Malta and the UAE went on to sign a number of bilateral agreements, which further enhanced co-operation between the two countries.   The Embassy of Malta which was inaugurated in February 2021, is tasked to strengthen diplomatic, political and economic relationships, and to expand its network for the promotion of tourism, cultural, educational and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Since 2020, the Embassy is also accredited as Permanent Representation to the International Renewable Energy Agency hosted in Abu Dhabi.  Within this context, it seeks to identify means to expand the use of sustainable, clean and renewable energy both in Malta and around the world, also as a voice for Small Island States.

Together with the Consulate-General of Malta in Dubai, relaunched in 2024, the Embassy works to promote and protect Maltese interests, as well as the welfare of Maltese nationals residing and working in the UAE.
