On 26 September 2024, H.E. Dr Joseph M. Sammut presented his Letters of Credence as Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to His Excellency Kaïs Saied, President of the Republic of Tunisia. Following the ceremony, Ambassador Sammut had a brief meeting with President Saied and inspected a Guard of Honour.
