Ambassador Ray Azzopardi hosts deputy commissioner Alexandra Mamo at the embassy of Malta in brussels

On 16th September 2021, the Ambassador of Malta to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and NATO, H.E. Ray Azzopardi welcomed and held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner responsible for Investigations and Technical Support within the Malta Police Force, Dr. Alexandra Mamo.

During the meeting, Ambassador Azzopardi gave an overview of the political, consular and diplomatic work of the Embassy, whilst explaining Belgium and Luxembourg’s political systems as well as Malta’s relations with NATO. Deputy Commissioner Mamo provided an overview of the meetings she held with Belgian counterparts and EU institutions within the ambit of financial crime. Both sides discussed the strides which Malta is making in combatting financial crimes and strengthening rule of law.

Following the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mamo presented Ambassador Azzopardi with a memento to commemorate the occasion. Ambassador Azzopardi was accompanied by Ms. Tania Carabott, Deputy Head of Mission and Consul and Mr. Omar Agius, Second Secretary. Deputy Commissioner Mamo was accompanied by Superintendent Frank A. Tabone, Inspector Danilo Francalanza and Inspector Ian Camilleri.
