Rosette Spiteri Cachia

Ms Rosette Spiteri Cachia is the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Portughese Republic, as of 6th January 2025.

Prior to her current assignment she served as Director-General, Secretary to the Presidency within the Office of the President of the Republic of Malta between 2019 and 2024. She previously served as the Private Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Malta and as Assistant Director of Operations at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Malta.

In her decades of experience in the Public Administration, Ms Spiteri Cachia served in various posts within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, dealing with Bilateral, Multilateral, Administrative and Operational matters.  She was also entrusted with the organization of major events which the Foreign Ministry hosted in Malta.

Ms Spiteri Cachia is qualified in Public Administration from the University of Malta as well as Protocol and Diplomacy from the International School of Protocol and Diplomacy, Brussels.

Ms Rosette Spiteri Cachia was instituted with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Phoenix by the President of the Hellenic Republic and Commander and The Cross of Recognition by the President of the Republic of Latvia.

Besides her mother tongue Maltese, she is fluent in English, Italian and has working knowledge of French.

Ambassador Spiteri Cachia was born on 21 July 1961 in Sliema, Malta. She is married to Aaron Spiteri.
