Maltese Fashion takes Washington DC

03/04/2019

On 23 March, Maltese renowed fashion designers Charles & Ron participated in a fashion show entitled “Fashion Night Ignites”, organised by the Embassies of Malta, Slovenia and Czech Republic. The fashion show took place in the historic Perry Belmont House in Washington DC, and brought together a high number of distinguished guests, including ambassadors, journalists, businessmen and fashion experts.

Undoubtedly, the Maltese designers left an impressive mark on the guests present for the event. Their distinct winter collection, characterised by typical Maltese symbols, stood out from the styles of the other designers to the extent of receiving a standing ovation from the crowd at the end of the show.

This was the first time that Charles & Ron participated in a fashion show in Washington DC.

“ We were honoured to represent Malta and be part of this prestigious event. Our first show in Washington DC at the amazing Perry Belmont House, bringing together fashion and diplomacy”, said Charles.

The Embassy of Malta in Washington DC, in collaboration with the office of the Malta Tourism Authority in New York city, coordinated the organisation of the event, as well as the after-show reception at the “Malta” room, which served the purpose of promoting the country. For this occasion, Maltese delicacies were prepared and served by four Maltese cooks who travelled from New York City for this special event.

The Embassy of Malta would like to thank its sponsors for its kind support, including Malta’s Honorary Consul for Pennsylvania, Corinthia Group, Chetcuti Cauchi advocates and Omni Hotels and Resorts.
