The High Commission for Malta in Canberra hosted a diplomatic reception to celebrate Malta Day at the Diplomat Hotel on Thursday, 21 September 2017.

Deputy High Commissioner, Ms. Denise Demicoli, welcomed everyone and invited the High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Charles Muscat and Chief of Protocol, Ms. Lyndall Sachs, to propose their respective ceremonial toast. The national anthems of Malta and Australia were played, in line with protocol formalities.

High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Charles Muscat gave a short speech promoting Malta’s economic growth and successes as an economy and invited everyone to view and hear a Malta Day address by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion the Hon. Mr. Carmelo Abela.

The reception was well-attended by distinguished members of the diplomatic community in Canberra as well as by several members of the local Maltese community.​​
