Interactive Address on Malta -India Relations to the Confederation of Young Leaders-India

On Wednesday 28 August 2024, the High Commissioner of Malta to India, H.E. Mr. Reuben Gauci gave an interactive lecture on the theme “Celebrating the Upcoming 60 Years Tapestry of Malta-India Relations and the Way Forward for a Shared Future ’’ in South Delhi. 

The event was organized by the Confederation of Young Leaders of India ( CYL ) which hosted its flagship series, the “Rendezvous with the Ambassador,” featuring H.E. Mr. Reuben Gauci, High Commissioner of Malta to India. This esteemed series, which has been ongoing since 2018, was inaugurated by India’s then External Affairs Minister, Smt. Sushma Swaraj, and Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley, in New Delhi.

Hon’ble Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, India’s former Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, and a Senior Parliamentarian, graced the event with her presence. Mr Gauci said that India and Malta have long enjoyed a warm and enduring friendship, and this event delved into the potential and scope for future cooperation in critical sectors such as health, fintech, maritime, film production, and tourism.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Mr. Himadrish Suwan, Chairman of the Confederation of Young Leaders of India; Mr. Kamal Modi, Chairman of Art Karat; Mr. Kazem Samandari, Chairman of L’ Opera; H.E. Mrs. Lala Accouche, High Commissioner of Seychelles to India; and over 60 of India’s brightest young leaders.
