Abu Dhabi, 13 December 2025 – The Embassy of Malta hosted a gathering for the Maltese community in the UAE to mark the 51st Anniversary since Malta became a Republic. The event was hosted by Her Excellency Maria Camilleri Calleja, Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the UAE, at the Ambassador’s official residence; and honoured by the esteemed presence of the Honourable Dr Ian Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta, and His Excellency Omar Al Neyadi, Director European Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The gathering was attended by members of the Maltese community residing and working in the United Arab Emirates. The aim of this event was to bring the Maltese community closer together and foster a stronger sense of unity and national identity, while strengthening the bonds between Malta and the United Arab Emirates.
