Consulate General of Malta in Toronto

The Consulate General of the Republic of Malta in Toronto is the current main focal point for providing consular services to Maltese living in Canada. Services on offer encompass guiding and accepting applications for Maltese citizenship, registering official documents in Malta, applying for Maltese passports, receiving and handling queries regarding Malta pensions received in Canada, assisting with legalisations on documents for use in Malta, and ad hoc services that may be requested.

Canada is widely recognised as being home to the second largest Maltese community outside of the Maltese Islands, worldwide. In a bid to make consular services more accessible to Maltese nationals and descendents from coast to coast, the Consulate General of Malta in Toronto regularly organises Consul-on-the-Move visits to British Columbia and Alberta, and is exploring extending the service to other far flung areas with a considerable Maltese presence, as required. On a community level, the Consulate General of Malta in Toronto actively strives to foster constructive dialogue to seek higher engagement with our traditions, values, innovation, and culture.

While the main focus is to be of service to the Maltese community in Canada and to Canadians and people residing in Canada who wish to travel to Malta, the work carried out by this office also includes commercial, trade, cultural diplomacy and engagement with local authorities in the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada.
