14/09/2025

With the support of Marmonil, Investia, Medserv Regis, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Tourism as well as the Malta Tourism Authority, Ambassador Pace today hosted a reception at Cloud 24, Le Pacha 1901 Nile boat, to celebrate the 61st anniversary of the Independence of Malta. The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the League of Arab States, members of the diplomatic corps, the Honorary Consuls of Malta in Alexandria and Suez, the business community, religious persons together with members of the Maltese diaspora resident in Egypt.

In his speech, Ambassador Pace touched upon the excellent bilateral relations between Malta and Egypt and commended Egypt for its resilience in the face of the challenges at its borders. He also praised Egypt’s humanitarian efforts in Al Arish and Rafah. As this was his last reception where he addressed the audience in his capacity as Malta’s Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Pace thanked all those present, some of whom he met early at the start of his posting and others who he met only a few weeks ago, for joining him today, and stressed how grateful he was for Egyptians’ unique sense of hospitality.

Ambassador Pace extends his heartfelt thanks to the sponsors, without whose financial support this event would not have been possible; MTA officials, for providing Maltese drinks, snacks and promotional material; as well as the staff at the Embassy, for their tireless efforts.
