On Thursday 12 December 2024, the High Commission of Malta in New Delhi, India celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Republic Day of Malta at the Ambassador IHCL Hotel, New Delhi.

Malta’s High Commissioner to India , H.E. Reuben Gauci and his spouse Dr Olga V Gauci, Deputy Head of Mission, Mrs Tarniem Mangion Shokry Iskandar and her spouse Mr Ninian Mangion and Second Secretary and Consul, Mr Daniel Mallia welcomed a large number of guests for this Reception. The local Indian staff working at the High Commission of Malta was also present. 

The occasion was graced by the attendance of the Chief Guest from the Ministry of External Affairs, government of India, Secretary West, H.E. Mr Tanmaya Lal.

During this occasion, the recorded message by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta, Hon Dr Ian Borg, was delivered to the guests on screen. During their speeches, both High Commissioner Gauci and Secretary West Lal, stressed on the importance of Malta and India expanding their diplomatic relations now that these relations are on the eve of their 60^th Anniversary.
