Malta National Day in Abu Dhabi, UAE

On 20 September 2021, the Embassy of the Republic of Malta in the United Arab Emirates opened the diplomatic season with the celebration of the 57th Anniversary of Malta’s Independence.

The event was enriched with the auspicious presence of His Highness Sheikh Saqer Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of the Royal Court of Sharjah, His Excellency Dr Abdullah Bin Mohamed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and the Honourable Dr. Aaron Farrugia, Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Planning.

The diplomatic and commercial communities, government officials, agencies, authorities and members of the Maltese community were among guests attending the event hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the UAE, H.E. Maria Camilleri Calleja, who thanked the sponsors for their support.

Maltese Soprano Nicola Said and pianist Giuliano Mazzoccante gave an impeccable rendering of the Maltese and Emirati National Anthems and sang various Arias giving an added value and class to the event.

This was the first large-scale event to be held in Abu Dhabi with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.The event was sponsored by the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs (Malta Day Fund); Electrofix; Malta Tourism Authority; SIGMA Group; AquaBioTech Group; I-CONSULT PACE 3 LIYFE; KSI MALTA; RISC Institute; TECH.MT; Infinite Fusion Technologies Ltd; Malta Government Investments; SAMIT Events Group.
