Earlier this week, on the 25th September 2023, a twinning partnership was signed between Żejtun and Oborniki.

After several meetings, and months of preparation, the Embassy of Malta in Warsaw would like to thank the Żejtun Local Council, the Municipal Office in Oborniki and the Local Government Division within the Ministry for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government for their cooperation throughout this process, together with the Cultural Directorate within the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade.

The purpose behind this twinning partnership is to promote culture and commercial ties between both cities, amongst other things. Zejtun and Oborniki are very similar; they enjoy historical sites and a religious touch.

Ms Krystyna Mikulanka, the Honorary Consul-General of Malta, attended to this signing ceremony​ on behalf of the Embassy. For this occasion, she read a message on behalf of the Ambassador of Malta to Poland.
