The Consulate General of the Republic of Malta in Istanbul together with the Embassy of the Republic of Malta in Ankara promote the relations between the Maltese and Turkish governments and peoples.

The Consulate General in Istanbul assists Maltese nationals who encounter difficulties while visiting Turkiye and also those seeking business contacts in Turkiye. The Consulate General issues visas to Turkish nationals and third country nationals residing in Turkiye wishing to travel to Malta and other Schengen countries. The Consulate General issues Maltese passports, birth, marriage, divorce and death registrations, and emergency travel documents ( if needed) of Maltese citizens. Citizenship applications are also processed to applicants who are entitled to acquire Maltese citizenship. Legalisations, witness to signatures are also done to the huge number of shipping companies operating under Maltese flags.
