Morocco – Visit of Parliamentary Secretary Ellul to Marrakech for the 6th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour

In Marrakech, Morocco between 10 and 13 February, a Maltese delegation led by the Parliamentary Secretary for Social Dialogue, Andy Ellul, participated in the plenary session of the 6th Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour. The event hosted speakers representing governments, international organisations, and various stakeholders highlighted both the progress achieved and the ongoing challenges in the global effort to eliminate child labour by 2030.
At the margins of the conference, a bilateral meeting was held with Younes Sekkouri, the Moroccan Minister for Economic Inclusion, Small Businesses, Employment and Skills. During this cordial meeting, Parliamentary Secretary Ellul and Minister Sekkouri discussed the commitments in their respective portfolios, explored potential synergies between their governments and social partners, and stressed the importance of social dialogue in strengthening the resilience of their respective countries.
The Consul General of Malta in Casablanca, Mr. Ivan Vassallo accompanied and provided assistance to the Parliamentary Secretary, and the Maltese delegation, including the head of the Secretariat, Mr. Sean Mangion.
